Party Bus Rental in Elk Grove Village, Illinois
Elk Grove Village trips split two ways: weekday shuttles and client dinners out of the business park, and weekend nights out from the neighborhoods west of it. The Loop is 30 to 65 minutes by I-90 or I-290, the O'Hare terminals 15 to 30. The airport is next door, but the terminals are on its far side.

Moving a workforce: shuttles out of the business park
The eastern half of Elk Grove Village is one continuous business park, several square miles of warehouses, manufacturers, freight forwarders, and data centers between Busse Road, Elmhurst Road, Devon Avenue, and the airport fence. It is routinely described as the largest of its kind in the country, and it gives this village a booking pattern unlike its neighbors: far more weekday work and far bigger headcounts.
Typical requests include a holiday party for a whole plant, a customer tour that moves visitors between two buildings and a restaurant, a sales meeting with a hotel block on Higgins Road or Busse Road, and shift-change shuttles when a parking lot is being rebuilt. Most of these are forward-facing shuttle or coach jobs rather than party rides. A 40-passenger shuttle bus covers a department; two of them on a loop cover a plant.
Big groups need lead time. Among quote requests for 41 to 55 passengers in our booking network, 29% arrived at least 90 days before the date and only 12% came in the last two weeks, because planners know the large vehicles are the scarcest. If the date of your December party is already fixed, ask in September.
The corporate event checklist covers rosters, a day-of contact, and the alcohol policy question, which should be settled by the company before anyone is on board. Anyone drinking on a vehicle must be 21 or older. For recurring or multi-day work, the charter services page explains how those quotes are built.
The west side of O'Hare is not the way into O'Hare
Visitors look at a map, see the runways touching the village's eastern edge, and assume the airport is five minutes away. The runways are. The passenger terminals are not, because there is no public entrance to the terminals from the west. Anyone riding from Elk Grove Village has to go around: usually I-90 east to I-190, or Higgins Road and Touhy Avenue across to Mannheim Road and in from the east side. That is 15 to 30 minutes, not five, and at the afternoon rush Touhy and Mannheim are slow.
It still makes the village one of the most convenient places in the region to host out-of-town colleagues, and airport transfers are a staple here. Small executive groups are the norm. In our network, half of the quote requests priced as a Sprinter were for ten passengers or fewer, and 38% of them arrived less than two weeks before the travel date, which fits how business travel gets scheduled. A 10-passenger executive Sprinter van suits six to eight travelers with roller bags.
Give flight numbers rather than times, name one traveler as the contact, and count the luggage honestly. International arrivals at Terminal 5 clear slower than domestic ones. The O'Hare group transportation page describes how larger vehicles stage instead of idling at the curb. Midway is a different trip entirely: 40 to 70 minutes down I-294 and I-55.
Common trips from Elk Grove Village
Typical drive-time ranges. Friday evenings, game days, snow, and construction push trips toward the high end, so plan pickups from the longer number.
| Destination | Drive time | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Chicago Loop | 30-65 min | I-90 to the Kennedy by default; I-290 to the Eisenhower when the Kennedy is backed up from the O'Hare merge. |
| O'Hare terminals | 15-30 min | There is no western entrance. Drivers loop around by I-90 and I-190 or by Touhy and Mannheim. |
| Woodfield area, Schaumburg | 10-20 min | I-290 north or Higgins Road west. Popular for team dinners that do not need the city. |
| Allstate Arena / Rosemont | 15-30 min | Higgins or Touhy east. Surface roads the whole way, so weekday shows meet rush-hour truck traffic. |
| Midway Airport | 40-70 min | I-290 or Route 83 to I-294 south, then I-55. Allow the high end for weekday morning flights. |

I-290, IL-390, Route 83, and I-90: choosing among four ways out
Few suburbs have this many options. I-290 runs along the west side of the village with an interchange at Biesterfield Road, the main street of residential Elk Grove. The Jane Addams (I-90) is just north, reached by Arlington Heights Road or the Elmhurst Road interchange. Illinois Route 390, the tollway that grew out of the old Elgin-O'Hare Expressway, crosses the south end along the Thorndale Avenue corridor and ends near Route 83 on the business park's southern edge. Route 83 itself, which is Busse Road here, runs north to south through the middle.
How that plays out:
- Loop, West Loop, United Center: from the neighborhoods, Arlington Heights Road to I-90 is the default. When the Kennedy is jammed, I-290 south becomes the Eisenhower and delivers you to the same place past the Hillside bottleneck. Expect 30 minutes at a quiet hour and 65 on a Friday evening.
- Schaumburg, Woodfield, NOW Arena: I-290 north or Higgins Road west, 10 to 20 minutes.
- Oak Brook and the I-88 corridor: Route 83 south, all surface road but direct.
- Rosemont and Allstate Arena: Higgins or Touhy east, skipping the tollway.
IL-390 is cashless, so tolls are billed electronically; ask how tolls appear on your quote. One caution about weekday afternoons: Busse, Elmhurst, Devon, and Landmeier roads carry a steady stream of semi-trailers, and a pickup inside the business park at 4:30 p.m. moves at truck speed. Try your date in the route time estimator.
The residential side: Biesterfield Road, Elk Grove High, and Busse Woods picnics
West of the business park, Elk Grove Village is a quiet planned suburb of ranches and split-levels along Elk Grove Boulevard, Biesterfield Road, and Arlington Heights Road, with the hospital campus and the town center shopping area in the middle. This is where the weekend trips come from: birthday dinners downtown, a Cubs game day, a bachelorette night in River North, a casino run to Des Plaines fifteen minutes east.
Elk Grove High School, part of District 214, sits in the middle of the village, and some west-side addresses attend District 211 schools instead. Prom and homecoming groups here follow the rules that apply to any youth trip: no alcohol under any circumstances, a parent signs the agreement, and one adult stays reachable all evening. Driveway pickups are easy on these streets, which helps with photo-heavy send-offs.
Busse Woods, the big forest preserve along the north edge of town with its fenced elk pasture, is the local spot for company picnics and family reunions. Groves are reserved by permit through the Forest Preserves of Cook County, and the grove lots vary in size, so tell us the grove number and ask the preserve about bus parking before assuming a coach will fit. Alcohol rules in the preserves are set by the county; check them for your permit.
In summer the village stages free outdoor concerts that draw large crowds and close streets near the municipal grounds, so mention any event that overlaps your pickup. Equipment differs by vehicle, and your written quote lists what the assigned one includes.
Where to load in Elk Grove Village
Warehouse and plant lots
There is plenty of pavement, but it is laid out for trailers. Pick the employee or visitor entrance rather than the dock side, tell the guard shack a bus is expected, and avoid shift-change minutes when the lot empties at once.
Business-park streets
Semi-trailers park and queue along the curbs on many blocks, and some streets have rail spur crossings. Loading from the street is a poor choice on weekdays. Use a lot, even a neighbor's with permission.
Hotels on Higgins, Busse, and Oakton
These properties handle airline crews and shuttle vans all day, but canopies are usually van height. A full-size bus loads from the side lot. Ask the front desk where coaches stage and share that with us.
Neighborhood driveways
West of Tonne Road and Arlington Heights Road the streets are wide, calm, and easy for a 35-foot bus. Courts are the exception. If you live on one, walk the group out to the through street.
