Couples, families, and groups up to eight. Any of the 10 passenger sedan stretches works. Pick the Lincoln for a traditional wedding look or the Chrysler 300 for something sharper, then pick the color. For an anniversary dinner or a theater night in the Loop, these cars are easy to load at a restaurant curb where a bus would struggle.
Nine to eleven guests. The 12 passenger Chrysler 300 is the last stop before you change body style. It keeps the low, classic profile while giving a bridal party of ten room to sit without crushing a bouquet.
Twelve to fourteen. Move to the 14 passenger Navigator limo. The taller roof is the real upgrade here: you can shift along the bench without folding in half, which matters over a four-hour night.

What the request data says about limo planning
Limousines are a small-group vehicle. In our booking-network data, 81% of inquiries quoted as a limousine were for ten passengers or fewer, against 28% of inquiries overall, and only 18% fell in the 11 to 20 range. The practical reading: the 10 passenger sedan stretches see the most demand, and the large SUV limos are a narrower specialty with fewer cars to go around. If you need a Hummer or an Escalade for a prom Saturday, that is the request to send first.
Limo shoppers also plan late. About 40% of limousine-quoted inquiries arrived less than two weeks before the event date, compared with 26% across all inquiries. For a Tuesday anniversary that is fine. For a Saturday in May it is a gamble, because the late crowd is all competing for the same few cars. A week or two of extra notice is the cheapest upgrade available.
Winter holds up better for limousines than for other vehicles: a quarter of limousine inquiries were for winter dates, above the 19% winter share overall. Holiday dinners, New Year's Eve, and Valentine's weekend are limo occasions. When to skip the limo
Limousines have a low roof and one long bench, and that shapes what they are good at. Some trips belong in a different vehicle.
- You want to stand, dance, or move around. That is a bus. The party bus page starts at 16 passengers, and a 20 passenger party bus costs a similar amount per head to a Hummer limo while giving everyone room to get up.
- Your group is 10 to 14 and wants headroom. A 12 passenger limo Sprinter has limousine seating inside a walk-in van, which older guests and anyone in heels will appreciate.
- More than 22 people. Nothing on this page seats more. Two limousines can work for a wedding party that wants separate cars, but for one group traveling together a bus is simpler and keeps the timeline tight.
- Bags, golf clubs, or trade-show cases. Stretching a car does not enlarge its trunk. Look at an executive Sprinter van or the shuttle and coach buses.

For prom and other youth events, include a parent contact and expect a no-alcohol rule on the ride.

How many people really fit in a 10 passenger limousine?
Ten is the rated number, and it assumes ten average adults sitting shoulder to shoulder on one long bench. Eight is comfortable. For prom dresses, suits with jackets, or winter coats, plan on seven or eight in a 10 passenger stretch and nine or ten in the 12 passenger Chrysler 300. If you have exactly ten adults and want elbow room, step up to the 14 passenger Navigator rather than squeezing.
Should I choose a black or a white limo?
It is mostly about photos and tone. White reads as bridal and shows up well against a dark suit or an evening street, which is why it is asked for at weddings and quinceañeras. Black looks formal and corporate, hides road spray in a Chicago winter, and suits anniversaries, proms, and airport pickups. Can a stretch limousine handle airport luggage?

Do limousines allow drinks on board?
With every passenger 21 or older, bringing your own drinks is commonly allowed, and the bar console has ice wells and glass holders for that reason. The written quote states the rule for your assigned car. On prom, homecoming, sweet 16, and quinceañera rides, or whenever anyone under 21 is on board, there is no alcohol in the vehicle. Parents should expect that rule to be enforced.
Can a limo do a simple one-way transfer instead of an hourly rental?
Sometimes. One-way transfers are easiest to arrange on weekdays and Sunday through Thursday evenings, when a car is not giving up a full Saturday booking to do it. On Friday and Saturday nights and during prom season, expect an hourly minimum. If you only need a ceremony-to-reception move, ask for it as a short block and give exact addresses so the quote reflects the real drive.
