Minimum hours by date
Friday and Saturday evenings
4-hour minimum. 71% of Chicago trips fall on these two nights, and 58% of groups book exactly 4 hours.
Sunday through Thursday, or before 5 p.m. on weekends
3-hour minimum at the lower 3-hour rate ($1,130 for a 22-passenger party bus). The easiest way to save.
Saturdays in March, April, and May
6-hour minimum at prom pricing for every event type, about 26% above the regular 6-hour rate.
Overtime
After a 15-minute grace period, billed at the contract hourly rate when the vehicle is free. Book a buffer hour if the route has three or more stops.
Deposit and balance
50% deposit
Reserves the vehicle with the signed contract. Deposits are non-refundable, which is what takes the vehicle off the calendar for you.
Balance
Due 7 to 14 days before the event, and before anyone boards. Events inside 7 days are paid in full at booking.
Cancellations
Inside 7 days: non-refundable. Outside 7 days: the deposit may become a credit toward a future date at management's discretion, except on special-event dates.

Five booking mistakes Chicago groups make
Each of these shows up in the reasons groups gave for not booking or for running into overtime. All five are avoidable.
Treating the quote as a hold
22% of groups that did not book said no vehicle was left for their date. A quote does not hold anything; the signed contract and 50% deposit do. Saturdays in June through September and prom Saturdays go first.
Booking the exact headcount
Vehicles cannot be loaded past seated capacity. Chicago groups are quoted 4 to 6 seats above their count on average; the step from a 22- to a 24-passenger bus is $120 on a 4-hour trip, while changing sizes later is often impossible.
Booking 4 hours for a 5-hour plan
Extra stops are the number-one cause of overtime, and mid-trip extensions are not guaranteed on a Saturday. A fifth hour on a 22-passenger bus is $210 up front; three or more stops or a suburban round trip almost always needs it.
Bringing the wrong things
Glass, food, and glitter trigger the only fees most groups ever see ($250 sanitation, $350 glitter). Bring sealed drinks, plastic cups, a cooler with fresh ice, and trash bags; leave food for a restaurant stop.
No single point person
One rider should hold the driver's number, the stop list, and the headcount. Groups with several people giving directions lose time at every stop after the second.
What moves a Chicago party bus price
Six inputs set the number on your quote. Four of them are yours to control.
Vehicle size and style
Chicago 4-hour rates step from $1,100 (8-passenger limo) to $1,340 (22-passenger party bus) to $2,420 (45-passenger). Per seat, a 48-passenger shuttle at $1,460 is the cheapest ride in the lineup.
Hours
Each extra hour is a fixed increment: $150 on an 8-passenger limo, $210 on a 22-passenger party bus, $480 on a 45-passenger bus. An 8-hour trip costs about 63% more than 4 hours, not double.
Day and time
Friday and Saturday evenings carry a 4-hour minimum. Sunday through Thursday and weekend daytime trips qualify for the 3-hour rate, roughly 16% less than the 4-hour price.
Prom season
Every Saturday in March, April, and May uses prom pricing with a 6-hour minimum, about 26% above the regular 6-hour rate, for any event type.
Distance
Chicagoland pickups use the same rate card. Trips well outside the area or into Indiana or Wisconsin may carry a mileage adjustment stated on the quote.
Overtime and cleanup
Overtime bills at the contract hourly rate after 15 minutes. Cleanup fees ($250 sanitation, $350 glitter) apply only when triggered; most groups never see one.

“Is the tip really included?”
Yes. The quoted total covers the vehicle, the driver, fuel, taxes, and the driver's gratuity. Nobody passes a hat at the end of the night; extra tipping is optional if the driver goes above and beyond.
“Can you do better on the price?”
The quoted rate is not discounted further, but the levers are yours: a Sunday-through-Thursday or daytime weekend date uses the lower 3-hour rate, a 32-passenger shuttle costs less than a 22-passenger party bus, and booking the right hours avoids overtime. Ask for the 4-, 5-, and 6-hour price on two sizes and compare.
“Can I see the bus and the contract first?”
Yes. Current photos of the vehicle on your quote and the full terms are sent on request before you sign anything. Photo requests were the most common follow-up question last year, so just ask.
“Is my date still open?”
Send the date and pickup ZIP and you will know. Nothing is held until the signed contract and 50% deposit arrive; Saturdays in summer and prom season can go within days of a quote.
