Coming In from the Suburbs on a Weeknight

Regulation hockey ends on schedule. Tied hockey does not. A regular-season overtime and shootout adds roughly 15 to 20 minutes; a playoff overtime can add an hour or much more, since postseason games continue until someone scores.

Plan the pickup as a window. Tell the driver you expect to walk out 15 minutes after the final horn, and have one person text at the start of the third period with an update.
