Two practical rules go with BYOB:

• Sealed beverages. Bring cans, sealed bottles, and boxed drinks rather than open containers. Drivers may visually check bags and coolers.
• Plastic or reusable cups, not glass. A broken bottle on a moving vehicle ends more parties than anything else. Pour into plastic before boarding if your drink of choice comes in glass, and leave glassware at home.
